Chai Syrup

Spiced chai syrup with ginger for warming beverages.

Chai Syrup recipe

Ingredients

  • Water — 3 cups
  • Sugar — 2/3 cup
  • Ginger Chai Tea — 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract — 1 tsp

Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Chubby Bottle

Instructions

  1. Mix 3 cups water and 2/3 cup sugar in large saucepan on high heat
  2. Stir until sugar dissolves and water begins to boil
  3. Add ginger chai tea and cover with lid
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract
  6. Strain through fine mesh strainer
  7. Store in Chubby Bottle in refrigerator

Tips

The long simmering time extracts maximum flavor from the tea. This syrup is the base for a caffeiene-free Ginger Chai Latte or Dirty Chai Latte, and is great as an option forcocktails, and mocktails.
