Ingredients
- Water — 3 cups
- Sugar — 2/3 cup
- Ginger Chai Tea — 1/4 cup
- Vanilla extract — 1 tsp
Equipment
- Large saucepan
- Fine mesh strainer
- Chubby Bottle
Instructions
- Mix 3 cups water and 2/3 cup sugar in large saucepan on high heat
- Stir until sugar dissolves and water begins to boil
- Add ginger chai tea and cover with lid
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes
- Remove from heat and add vanilla extract
- Strain through fine mesh strainer
- Store in Chubby Bottle in refrigerator
Tips
The long simmering time extracts maximum flavor from the tea. This syrup is the base for a caffeiene-free Ginger Chai Latte or Dirty Chai Latte, and is great as an option forcocktails, and mocktails.
